What do I need in order to use this expansion pack?
BFD Vintage Recording Techniques requires a registered copy of BFD3 with the latest version installed. It is not compatible with BFD1.x, BFD2 or BFD Eco. We also recommend using an SSD with this product.

What version of BFD3 is required?
BFD Vintage Recording Techniques uses functionality that is only available in BFD3.2.x.x and as such the library is only supported with BFD3.2 and above.

Why does it have these requirements?
Only BFD3 is equipped to handle the data format and custom channel layout featured in this expansion; previous versions of BFD2 and BFD 1.x cannot.

Full bleed, what’s that all about then?
Full bleed means that the sound of each drum is heard in the mic channel of every other drum. This is true for all kit pieces in VRT with the exception of the cymbals, which receive no bleed, but do bleed on to the other mic channels. Bleed can be reduced in the KPI panel by reducing the Return or Send controls. When mixing VRT with other BFD3 packs, please be aware that bleed will not be present.
